Chelsea enter talks to sign Premier League left-back

Chelsea have reportedly opened negotiations with Leicester City over a possible summer deal for Ben Chilwell.

The west London side are likely to pursue a new left-back during the summer with Emerson fancied to head through the exit door.

A number of top quality names including Alex Telles and Robin Gosens have been mentioned but Todofichajes claims that the Blues may prioritise the signing of Chilwell, who has vast Premier League experience.

It is added that the defender has already signalled his desire to join the Blues through his representative and the club are now in talks with the Foxes over the transfer fee.

It has previously been claimed that Brendan Rodgers' side could demand around £55m for Chilwell but the Blues will be hoping to negotiate a lesser price with the current financial climate.

Chilwell has made 118 appearances for the Foxes to date. He has become a regular with the England national side over the past 18 months ahead of the likes of Luke Shaw and Danny Rose.
