Pogba open to long-term Man United stay

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is reportedly open to the prospect of signing a new contract with the club after making a positive return after a long-term injury lay-off.

The France international struggled with a nagging ankle injury during the first half of the campaign and he eventually underwent an operation in January to sort the issue.

Initially, it was thought that Pogba may not return to action until the final weeks of the season, but the unexpected break because of the coronavirus pandemic has meant that he has more games to play than anticipated.

According to ESPN, Pogba is increasingly content with life in Manchester after a successful return from injury and he could be prepared to commit his long-term future to the club.

His current deal expires at the end of next season but the Red Devils have the option of extending his stay for another 12 months. The club have yet to trigger the clause and are aiming to finalise a new contract directly.
