Everton, Arsenal keen on signing Manchester City star
Everton are reportedly prepared to compete with Arsenal in the race to sign John Stones from Manchester City during this summer's transfer window.
The England international has fallen out-of-favour under manager Pep Guardiola during the backend of the current season and he has not played a single minute of first-team football since the restart.
As a result, he has been touted to head for the exit door this summer and The Sun claims that the Toffees could go head-to-head with the Gunners in the pursuit of the centre-back.
The Gunners were linked with a loan move for Stones with the option to buy in January, but a deal never materialised as the Cityzens were reluctant to consider his exit at the halfway stage of the season.
They are likely to revive their interest at the end of the campaign and the presence of manager Mikel Arteta, who was previously the assistant at the Cityzens could enhance their chances of signing Stones.
Meanwhile, the Toffees are also keen on pursuing the defender's services. Stones built his reputation during his three-year spell at the Merseyside outfit and the club are said to be eyeing a reunion.
