Rudiger wants Havertz at Chelsea

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has acknowledged that he would like to see Kai Havertz join the club from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

The German recently concluded his campaign with Leverkusen with 17 goals and nine assists across all competitions and he is said to have revealed his desire to move on.

The Blues have been touted as one of the favoured to land his signature and his compatriot Rudiger has spoken about the possibility of a reunion at the club level.

He told BILD: "Kai is talented, when I saw him train with the Germany national team I was like, 'wow!'. I would be lying to you if I said I didn't want him at Chelsea."

The Blues have already signed the likes of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner from Ajax and RB Leipzig respectively. It has been reported that Rudiger played his part in convincing the latter to join them.

It remains to be seen whether Havertz will link up with his fellow international teammates at Stamford Bridge this term. Leverkusen want around £90m to sanction his sale.
