Chelsea lining up move for German centre-back
Chelsea are reportedly considering a move for Borussia Monchengladbach centre-back Matthias Ginter.
The German played an important role at the heart of Monchengladbach's defence last term and helped them qualify for the Champions League.
His progress has caught the eye of many European clubs and Kicker claims that the Blues are weighing up a possible move for his services.
The Blues have already strengthened their squad with the arrivals of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner and they are reportedly close to signing Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz.
Ginter's current deal with Monchengladbach expires at the end of next season, but the club have the option of extending his stay for another 12 months.
Hence, the Bundesliga outfit are unlikely to sanction his sale on the cheap and they are set to demand more than £40m from interested clubs this summer.
Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid have also been credited with an interest in the former Borussia Dortmund man. He made 31 appearances for Monchengladbach in the recent league campaign where they finished fourth.
