Arsenal and Manchester United interested in Real Madrid star
Arsenal and Manchester United could compete for the services of James Rodriguez from Real Madrid this summer, a report from Marca claims.
Rodriguez struggled for game time under Zinedine Zidane during the course of the previous season and he made only 14 appearances in all competitions.
With under 11 months remaining on his contract, he is expected to be sold by Los Blancos and Marca claims that both the Gunners and United are interested in signing him.
Both teams appear prepared to meet the £22.5m price tag for the transfer, but a move could still be scuppered from the fact that the attacker is reluctant to take a significant pay-cut.
The Colombian is prepared to accept a slight reduction on his £7.2m salary, but he is unwilling to take a 50 percent drop in the wages, which has been proposed by the pair.
Rodriguez could have joined Atletico Madrid last summer, but his move was blocked by Zidane. The former AS Monaco man publicly revealed the decision in a recent interview.
