Arsenal have sanctioned the sale of academy striker Sam Greenwood to newly-promoted Leeds United.

The 18-year-old has made the switch to Elland Road for a reported fee of £3.1m with a number of add-ons included.

He is expected to feature for the Under-23s during the forthcoming campaign and will be hoping to break into the first team in the long run.

Leeds have already retained the services of Illan Meslier and Helder Costa on a permanent basis after their temporary deals last season while Jack Harrison has been re-signed on loan from Manchester City for the third campaign running.

Aside from the quartet, young players such as Charlie Allen, Cody Drameh, Joe Gelhardt and Dani Van Den Heuvel have joined the club. They are all expected to play for the development side next term.

Meanwhile, the west Yorkshire outfit are expected to announce the club-record signing of Rodrigo Moreno from Valencia in the next few days. Los Che have already confirmed the agreement between the sides.

Aside from the Spain international, they are also on the verge of landing Freiburg star Robin Koch. The German, who can play in either the central defence or holding midfield role, is expected to join them in a deal of around £13m.
