Lucas Torreira heading for Arsenal exit
Arsenal could part ways with Lucas Torreira in the near future after receiving an enticing transfer offer from Fiorentina.
The Uruguayan had an impressive debut season for the Gunners when he arrived from Sampdoria in 2018, but he struggled to replicate his performances last term.
Torreira was often on the bench in the second half of the previous campaign with manager Mikel Arteta opting to choose Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos as his midfield options.
Ceballos is currently on the verge of rejoining on loan for the second year running from Real Madrid and that could pave the way for the departure of Torreira.
According to Labaro Viola, Fiorentina are prepared to loan Torreira for an initial £7.1m this summer with the obligation to buy for £14.2m at the end of the season.
The Gunners are open to selling Torreira and his exit could be finalised in the coming days. The club seem willing to take a small loss on the player, who cost them £25m from Sampdoria two years ago.
