Liverpool close to third major signing?

Liverpool set to land Jota?

Liverpool are reportedly close to securing the signature of Diogo Jota from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Reds have already signed Thiago Alcantara and Kostas Tsimikas this summer with the former joining them from Bayern Munich earlier this summer.

According to Liverpool Echo, the Merseyside outfit are now in advanced negotiations with Wolves for the services of Jota as they seek to reinforce the attack.

Jota has been with the west Midlands outfit for the past three seasons and he bagged 16 goals and six assists in the recently-concluded campaign.

The Reds have limited their spending this summer because of the financial impact of COVID-19, but the hierarchy have given the green light to land Jota.

The reigning Premier League champions are set to pay a fee of around £35m for the Portugal international. They are expected to retrieve £10m with defender Ki-Jana Hoever set to move in the opposite direction.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp's side are also likely to sell Rhian Brewster and Harry Wilson. Brewster is available for around £20m, but the Reds will demand a buy-back clause.
