Rodon to Spurs?

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to land the signature of Joe Rodon from Swansea City before the domestic transfer window closes on October 16.

The north London side parted ways with centre-back Jan Vertonghen after his contract expired this summer and they have since been unable to land a replacement.

They were linked with Inter Milan's Milan Skriniar and Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger, but could not sign either player before the international transfer deadline.

Premier League sides are permitted to trade players with EFL teams until next Friday and Standard Sport claims that Spurs are hoping to sign Rodon from the Swans.

Rodon has been on their radar for the past few weeks, but reports claim that they are still far apart from negotiating a fee. The Swans want around £18m for the Welshman, but Spurs are not willing to pay more than £7m.

Rodon has become a regular for club and country of late. However, the 22-year-old has suffered multiple ankle injuries in the past and Spurs are wary of paying more for his services.
