Liverpool will move for Serie A centre-back in January
Liverpool will reportedly revive their interest in signing Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli when the transfer window reopens.
The Senegal international was heavily linked with a Premier League move during the summer, but a deal never materialised.
Manchester City came the closest to signing him, but they were also reluctant to meet Napoli's £75m price tag for the defender.
According to Calciomercato, the Reds could revive their pursuit of Koulibaly in the New Year after recent injury setbacks in the central defensive department.
Virgil van Dijk is expected to miss the rest of the season after a knee ligament injury while there are also concerns over the extent of Fabinho's hamstring problem.
Elsewhere, Joel Matip is also nursing a muscular injury and that has left Jurgen Klopp with no option but to play club graduate Rhys Williams alongside Joe Gomez.
The Merseyside giants never made an attempt to sign Koulibaly after learning of the asking price, but they could make a serious move for his services in January to fill the void left by Van Dijk.
