Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reacts to Paul Pogba conceding penalty vs Arsenal
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that Paul Pogba should have done better to avoid conceding the penalty against Arsenal.
The Red Devils were second best during the opening half of the Premier League clash, but they were fortunate to go into the break nil-nil after the Gunners squandered a few chances.
Following the break, they started as the better team, but the Gunners regained control of the game and eventually got a penalty after the hour mark following Pogba's foul on Hector Bellerin in the box.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang comfortably converted the spot-kick and helped the Gunners win their first Premier League game at Old Trafford in 14 years.
Speaking after the game, Solskjaer admitted that the penalty was soft, but Pogba could have avoided the situation by staying on his feet instead of going into a challenge.
"He needs to stay on his feet. Paul [Pogba] knows it’s a soft penalty to give away similar to Nemanja [Matic] who almost got a penalty," He told Sky Sports.
With the defeat, United are stranded in the 15th spot with just seven points on the board. They are currently nine points behind leaders Liverpool with one game in hand.
Elsewhere, Mikel Arteta's side have temporarily moved to eighth on the table, but they are just one point behind the top four. They will be in action against Aston Villa next weekend.
