Bayern Munich star reacts to Chelsea, Arsenal transfer link
Bayern Munich star Jerome Boateng has said that he has been left surprised by the recent speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League.
The German has racked nearly 350 appearances for the European champions, but his future with them is uncertain with his contract expiring next summer.
So far, there has been no breakthrough in the negotiations and reports have suggested that he could head to England next year.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have all been credited with an interest in his services, but Boateng has been left surprised by the gossip.
"Nobody approached me, nobody spoke to me, I didn't know anything about it, I was surprised," He told Suddeutsche Zeitung.
Boateng's teammate David Alaba is also expected to leave in the near future after the contract talks broke down with the Bavarian giants.
The hierarchy have already confirmed the decision won't be rescinded and Alaba could leave for free in eight months' time.
