Frank Lampard provides fresh update on Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has confirmed the availability of Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz for tomorrow's Champions League clash against Rennes on the road.
Havertz had contracted the coronavirus earlier this month and he has since missed three games for the Blues while he was not involved for Germany during the international break.
He was deemed fit to return against Newcastle United last weekend, but Lampard opted against picking him, given he was still short of match fitness after a period of self-isolation.
Meanwhile, Thiago Silva was excluded from the trip to St James' Park after arriving late from international duty with Brazil. Ahead of the Rennes game, Lampard has confirmed that the duo are available for selection.
"Kai and Thiago both travel and they are fit for selection," He told.
The Blues have registered seven points after three Champions League group stage games and that sees them top of the table on goal difference to Sevilla.
They can guarantee their spot in the next round of the elite competition with a minimum of a draw against Rennes on Tuesday night.
