Predicted Man United lineup vs Watford

Manchester United will be aiming to return to winning ways when they entertain Watford in the FA Cup third round tonight.

The Red Devils were recently eliminated by Manchester City in the League Cup semi-final and they have the chance to make amends against the Hornets.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Lineup:

Dean Henderson has been the Red Devils' Cup goalkeeper and he played all four games of their Carabao Cup campaign. He is likely to keep his place against the Hornets.

In the defence, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw should be given a breather. Alex Tuanzebe and Alex Telles should replace them in the right and left-back positions respectively.

At the heart of the backline, Victor Lindelof could drop to the bench for Eric Bailly to reclaim a starting spot. Bailly has fared better than the Swede in recent weeks and should get another start alongside Harry Maguire.

Nemanja Matic and Donny van de Beek are likely to make up the midfield. Scott McTominay and Fred are expected to be rested. Van de Beek has managed only two minutes in the past four games and needs a performance tonight to prove his worth to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

In the attack, the likes of Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes should be given a break. Mason Greenwood and Daniel James may slot into the right and left wing positions with Juan Mata in the number 10 position.

Anthony Martial is expected to start as the lone striker with Edinson Cavani serving the final game of his three-match suspension. The Frenchman has excelled against Watford with four goals in eight meetings.

Predicted Lineup: Dean Henderson; Axel Tuanzebe, Eric Bailly, Harry Maguire, Alex Telles; Nemanja Matic, Donny van de Beek; Mason Greenwood, Juan Mata, Daniel James; Anthony Martial.
