Tomori set for Milan transfer

AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini has confirmed that the club are on the cusp of signing Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea.

The centre-back has been a long-term target for the Rossoneri and they are likely to announce his arrival in the coming days.

The England international will join them on loan with the option to buy for around £26m at the end of the season.

Ahead of the move, Maldini spoke to Sky Sport Italia where he confirmed that the club are working on the final details for Tomori.

"We wanted Fikayo Tomori also last summer, he's always been one of our targets. He's perfect for our squad, we're working on the last details."

Tomori has been the fifth-choice centre-back for the Blues this term with Kurt Zouma, Thiago Silva, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen ahead of him.

Frank Lampard initially said that the defender was part of his long-term plans, but the Rossoneri seem to have convinced the Blues to negotiate a buy clause.
