Thomas Tuchel confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed a fresh injury blow ahead of the Premier League clash against Southampton tomorrow.

The Blues are on a four-match winning streak in the Premier League and will be favourites against a struggling Saints side.

Ahead of the game, Tuchel provided an update on the first-team squad where he confirmed a couple of absentees.

Thiago Silva returned to training earlier in the week but tomorrow's game will come too soon for him following his recent thigh injury.

Meanwhile, Christian Pulisic has suffered a fresh calf problem but Tuchel emphasised that the setback is only a minor one.

The USA international has struggled to stay injury-free since his arrival at Chelsea and is now on the sidelines with a fresh issue.

Tuchel said that the attacker will be left out with a tightness in his calf and hinted that he may return to face Atletico in the Champions League.

The Blues are currently fourth on the league table, only goal difference ahead of London rivals West Ham United.
