Manchester United get to know price for Marcos Llorente

United must pay £103m to sign Llorente

Manchester United must trigger the £103m release clause in Marcos Llorente's contract in order to sign him from Atletico Madrid.

The Spaniard has enjoyed a superb second season with the Madrid giants and he has bagged 10 goals and nine assists from 36 outings.

His form has caught the eye of the Red Devils and Sport recently claimed that they had tabled a £68.5m offer to sign him.

It was added that Atletico were contemplating over the player's sale, but that story has been quickly dismissed by Marca.

The Spanish publication state that Diego Simeone's side don't have any desire to sell Llorente during the summer transfer window.

However, they won't have any control over the player's future, if United or any other club trigger the £103m buy-out clause.

United are on the hunt for a creative central midfielder this summer with Paul Pogba possibly leaving the club.

Pogba's contract expires in June next year and there are suggestions that he could head for the exit door.

Meanwhile, last summer's signing Donny van de Beek may also pursue a fresh challenge after failing to impress Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
