Manchester United and Chelsea will need to pay a club-record fee of around £154m to sign Erling Haaland during the summer transfer window.

The Norwegian has been a revelation for Dortmund and he has netted 49 goals from 49 games since joining them from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020.

His progress has caught the eye of elite European clubs and United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all interested in signing him.

Haaland's current contract has a release clause worth £65m, but that will only become active at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

It was recently claimed that Dortmund could sell him for around £100m this summer, particularly if they miss out on the Champions League.

However, according to ESPN, that won't be the case and Dortmund are set to demand as much as £154m for the marksman this summer.

The Bundesliga outfit have no plans to negotiate on the figure even if they miss out on Champions League football next season.

Dortmund are currently four points adrift of the top four in their league.
