Chelsea to offer Marcos Alonso for Inter Milan star?

Chelsea could include Marcos Alonso as a makeweight to sign Inter Milan defender Achraf Hakimi this summer.

The Morocco international had a superb debut campaign for Inter last term, registering seven goals and 11 assists from 45 games.

Despite this, he has been tipped to leave the club as they have to recover their financial losses before the end of the month.

The Blues are among the favourites to sign him, but they are reluctant to meet the £60m valuation to land his signature.

Instead, they are prepared to pay around £52m for the 22-year-old, with Alonso acting as a makeweight for the remaining fees.

Alonso has been a long-term target for Inter, and he could act as a replacement for the recently-departed Ashley Young.

The Blues currently have Cesar Azpilicueta and Reece James as the regulars for the right wing-back role under Thomas Tuchel.

Azpilicueta could be phased out in the near future while James could play in the back three, where he impressed in the final weeks of last season.
