Arsenal confirm their third summer signing
Arsenal have confirmed their third signing of the summer transfer window with Ben White arriving from Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Gunners finalised an agreement with the Seagulls earlier this month, but an announcement was delayed due to White's vacation.
The club have now officially confirmed his arrival on a reported five-year contract. He will wear the number four shirt next season.
The Gunners have not paid any fee up front for the England international. They must pay a guaranteed £30m in 12 months' time.
Meanwhile, the remaining £20m will be paid in a couple of instalments. The deal could rise to £55m with add-ons included.
White has become the Gunners' third signing of the transfer window after the arrivals of Nuno Taveres and Albert Sambi Lokonga.
They are expected to make further signings this summer. A new goalkeeper and an attacking midfielder remain the top targets.
Sheffield United shot-stopper Aaron Ramsdale is one of their prime targets to act as the back-up to Bernd Leno next term.
