Chelsea reach agreement to sign Romelu Lukaku
Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan.
The Belgium international recently emerged as the club's prime striker target, and they have now sealed the deal for his services.
Initially, Inter were reluctant to sanction his departure, but the Blues managed to convince them with a club-record package of €115m.
Lukaku has already agreed personal terms over a €12m annual contract, and he is expected to join the club in the next few days.
He may not be available for the European Super Cup against Villarreal due to the necessary formalities and quarantine measures.
However, he could be in contention for the Premier League opener against Crystal Palace. The Blues host the Eagles on August 14.
Lukaku becomes the Blues' first high-profile signing of the transfer window. The club previously signed Marcus Bettinelli for free.
There could be more transfer activity in the coming weeks. A new central defender remains a top priority for the west London giants.
