Chelsea could move for Atletico Madrid man
Chelsea have been linked with a possible late approach to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.
The Blues have made one big-money signing this summer in Romelu Lukaku, who arrived from Inter for €115m.
They are now prioritising a deal for Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde. The Frenchman will cost around €70m.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Saul is a player under consideration, but the Blues have yet to make any proposal for him.
Saul is no longer indispensable to Atleti. The Spanish champions have signed a replacement in Rodrigo De Paul.
They are willing to sanction his sale for €45m. The Blues will make a decision over their midfield situation next week.
The European champions could offload Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek before lining up an offer for the Spaniard.
Loftus-Cheek was on the radar of Southampton earlier in the window. They could make a late push to land his signature.
The England international could be available in the region of €23m after a disappointing loan spell with Fulham.
