Chelsea midfielder set to stay despite Saul arrival
Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is set to remain with the Blues despite the imminent arrival of Saul Niguez.
Saul is expected to join the Blues from Atletico Madrid on loan. The Spaniard could be signed permanently for €40m next summer.
With his arrival, the Blues have four solid central midfield options including N'Golo Kante, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic.
Despite this, manager Thomas Tuchel wants sufficient midfield depth, and the club are expected to keep Loftus-Cheek.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that there is little interest in the midfielder after his underwhelming loan spell at Fulham.
Loftus-Cheek spent the previous campaign with the Cottagers. He struggled for form and was on the bench towards the end of the season.
Thomas Tuchel spoke fondly about him during pre-season, but his hopes of securing regular game time are distant.
The Blues graduate may need to capitalise on the limited opportunities to boost his prospects of climbing up the pecking order.
