Manchester City suffer double injury blow ahead of Chelsea and Liverpool clashes

Stones and Laporte out injured for two weeks

Manchester City have suffered a double injury blow ahead of the upcoming Premier League games against Chelsea and Liverpool.

The Cityzens have made a mixed beginning to the season, and they have picked up only 10 points from five league games.

According to The Telegraph, the club may now have to adjust without two of their main centre-backs for the next two weeks.

Both John Stones and Aymeric Laporte are carrying minor injuries, and they won't face Chelsea and Liverpool in the league.

Meanwhile, the pair are also expected to miss a crucial Champions League group stage game against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Cityzens still have the central defensive position covered. Nathan Ake is expected to partner Dias at the heart of the backline.

The Dutchman had a tough debut season with the Cityzens amid injuries, and he could see more playing time this campaign.

Manchester City face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. They have not beaten the west London giants in the last three meetings.
