Real Madrid planning to initiate contact with Chelsea star
Real Madrid are planning a pre-contract offer for Antonio Rudiger who has been reluctant to sign a new Chelsea deal.
The German has transformed into a key player under manager Thomas Tuchel, and he is currently an undisputed starter.
Despite this, the hierarchy have refused to meet his £200,000-a-week demands. This has stalled negotiations over a new deal.
Rudiger has less than nine months remaining on his contract. The centre-back can sign a pre-contract with a foreign club in January.
There is interest from Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, but Madrid are aiming to beat the queue.
The club are already in contact with the player's entourage, and will discuss contract terms when the transfer window reopens.
Madrid lost the services of both Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane this summer, but they managed to bring in David Alaba's experience.
They are eyeing another experienced match winner, and have earmarked Rudiger as the perfect fit to accompany the Austrian.
