Liverpool, Manchester United keeping tabs on Barcelona star
Liverpool and Manchester United are keeping tabs on the contract situation of Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele.
The Frenchman will enter the final six months of his contract in January, and there are doubts whether he will extend his stay.
There has been no progress thus far, and reports claim that a number of clubs are lining up to sign him on a pre-contract.
Liverpool and United have been long-term admirers and Sport claims that they could compete for the Frenchman's services.
Dembele was the subject of a loan approach from United in 2020 after they failed to secure an agreement for Jadon Sancho.
They eventually signed Sancho from Borussia Dortmund this summer, but continue to be linked with a move for Dembele.
With Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard potentially leaving soon, the hierarchy may want to bolster the attack.
Meanwhile, the Reds are eyeing another wide option amid uncertainty over the futures of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
Both have under two years left on their contracts. The duo have yet to sort out possible extensions at the Merseyside outfit.
