Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that the club will take a decision on Billy Gilmour's future in January.

The midfielder was loaned out to Norwich City this summer to gain first-team experience, but the move has not worked out as planned.

Gilmour started the campaign as a regular in the centre of the park for the Canaries, but his situation has completely changed recently.

He has not played a single minute in the last five league games, and the Blues are already mulling over recalling him at the turn of the year.

Speaking in a press conference today, Tuchel said that the Blues will take a decision in January, and he does not need to add anything further.

He said: "We will take the decision in January when it has to be made. Things are not going as he maybe wishes, or as we all wish for but it's not the moment now to already give solutions and cancel the whole project."

Gilmour is widely regarded as one of the best graduates at the club. He still finds himself down the pecking order with the fierce competition for midfield places.

N'Golo Kante, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ross Barkley and Saul Niguez are currently among the central midfield options available to Tuchel.
