Arsenal are unlikely to pursue Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic next year, according to football.london.

The Gunners are expected to sign a new striker in 2022 with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah set to leave.

Both players will enter the final six months of their contracts in January, and could head out on free transfers next summer.

According to football.london, the club's hierarchy are lining up potential targets, but Jovic does not appear as one of those.

Jovic has struggled to establish himself with Real Madrid due to the presence of Karim Benzema, who has been an undisputed starter.

He is keen to move on for regular game time ahead of the World Cup, but the Gunners are not expected to enter the race.

Jovic previously excelled in the Bundesliga, but he does not appear to suit the requirements of Gunners boss Mikel Arteta.

Arteta prefers a new striker who can drop into deeper positions and also contribute defensively with a tireless work rate.

Jovic is a more traditional striker, who operates in and around the box. The Gunners are likely to look elsewhere for a new marksman.
