Chelsea midfielder set to sign new deal?
Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount is close to finalising a new long-term contract, according to Football Insider.
The 22-year-old has had a mixed campaign with the Blues, but he continues to remain a key player under Thomas Tuchel.
His current deal does not expire until the summer of 2024, but the Blues recently opened talks over a new contract.
Mount reportedly felt underappreciated, and the hierarchy have now agreed terms over an improved deal to satisfy him.
He is currently on a weekly salary of £75,000. The new contract will double his wages, keeping him at the club until 2025.
Aside from Mount, the Blues are also in advanced negotiations over a new contract with centre-back Andreas Christensen.
The Dane's deal expires at the end of the campaign, but Thomas Tuchel recently hinted that a renewal is on the horizon.
They have not made similar progress with Antonio Rudiger. The German could leave for free when his contract expires next summer.
