Chelsea planning new contract for Reece James?
Chelsea are planning to reward Reece James with a new contract at the end of the campaign, The Telegraph reports.
James has been in stellar form over the past few months, and he is now an undisputed starter in the right wing-back role.
He has already made 10 goal contributions this season, and the hierarchy believe he should be rewarded for his efforts.
According to The Telegraph, the board are eager to reward James for his performances, but may only do so in the summer.
Their main focus remains on handing one-year deals to Cesar Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva while also convincing Andreas Christensen to stay.
Azpilicueta and Silva appear likely to commit their futures. The club are looking to convince Christensen over a five-year renewal.
The Blues have been in sublime form this term, and they are currently topping the Premier League table with 29 points on the board.
They have a three-point lead over Manchester City at the moment.
