Arsenal midfielder wants to leave in January
Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles is keen to leave the club when the transfer window reopens next month, Daily Mail claims.
The Gunners graduate was eager to join Everton during the last transfer window, but Mikel Arteta blocked the proposal.
Maitland-Niles has since made 10 appearances for the Gunners, but just two of those have been starts in the Premier League.
According to Daily Mail, the midfielder is prepared to push for a move away from the north London giants next month.
Newcastle United and Everton could make offers for his services, but it is unclear whether the Gunners will consider his exit.
The Gunners could lose Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny for the entire month of January due to African Cup of Nations.
This would leave them with just Granit Xhaka, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Maitland-Niles as specialist central midfielders.
The club are looking to sign Lille's Renato Sanches next month. Maitland-Niles' exit may depend on the Portuguese's arrival.
