Arsenal midfielder attracting interest from Turkey

Mohamed Elneny news

Elneny wanted by multiple Turkish clubs

Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny is reportedly attracting plenty of interest from Turkey this month.

The Egyptian was heavily linked with Galatasaray in September last year, but the Gunners rejected the approach.

Elneny has now entered the final six months of his contract, and PA Sport claims that he could be on the move.

The midfielder is presently on African Cup of Nations duty, but he is nonetheless attracting transfer interest.

The Gunners recently loaned out Ainsley Maitland-Niles to Roma, and it seems unlikely that Elneny will leave.

However, the situation could completely change if the Gunners are able to make a couple of new midfield signings.

Mikel Arteta has publicly confirmed that the club are actively pursuing new midfielders amid the lack of sufficient options.

Elneny and Thomas Partey are currently on AFCON duty while Granit Xhaka is out for the time being with coronavirus.

Albert Sambi Lokonga is the only specialist central midfield option available when the senior players in the squad are considered.
