Mosquera wanted by Tottenham

Tottenham have deployed scouts to monitor the progress of 17-year-old Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera. The talented centre-back, who has recently made his debut for Valencia's first team, is considered one of the best young prospects to emerge from Spanish football in recent years.

Mosquera has appeared for Spain's youth sides at all levels and has been a regular for Valencia's B side despite being just 17 years old. At 6 foot 3, the Alicante-born starlet has height, strength and is solid in the tackle despite his youthful years.

Mosquera, born to Colombian parents, has also been courted by Spanish duo Real Madrid and Barcelona, but neither has been able to afford the rumoured 20 million euro pricetag.

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is said to be keen to bring in the young defender with a plan to play him in Spurs' youth competitions this season and eventually force his way in to the first team squad.

Spurs are unlikely to wrap up a deal during the January transfer window, but are said to be confident a transfer will be agreed in the summer.
