Manchester United defender rejects Turkey interest
Manchester United defender Phil Jones has turned down the prospect of joining Trabzonspor on loan.
The centre-back recently made his comeback to competitive football after over 700 days, and produced an impressive display against Wolves.
This led to suggestions that he could pursue a new challenge elsewhere to revive his career, but it has not been the case so far.
Jones rejected loan approaches from Bordeaux and Watford before the English transfer window closed at the end of January.
He could still move with the Turkish transfer window open until February 8, but Jones is determined to see out the season at United.
Turkish Super Lig leaders Trabzonspor recently made a proposal, but Jones made it clear that he does not want to leave the Red Devils for now.
The 29-year-old will enter the final year of his contract in July, but the club have the option of extending his stay for another 12 months.
He is most likely to be offloaded on a permanent basis this summer.
