Arsenal to miss out on Serie A striker?
Arsenal look set to miss out on Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca amid the fierce competition from Inter Milan.
The Gunners are expected to reinforce the centre-forward department this summer with the anticipated exits of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was released by the club last month while Lacazette and Nketiah could leave when their contracts expire on June 30.
Hence, the north London giants may pursue more than one striker, and Scamacca has been highlighted as a potential summer target.
However, they may not succeed in luring him, according to Gazzetta dello Sport as Inter Milan are already in advanced talks for the player.
Talks have been initiated with Sassuolo in recent weeks while the Nerazzurri have also negotiated personal terms with the striker's entourage.
Scamacca also prefers to stay in the Italian top-flight rather than moving abroad. The Gunners may have to look elsewhere in their striker pursuit.
Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Real Sociedad's Alexander Isak are among possible candidates being considered by Mikel Arteta's side.
