Arsenal fancied to make €40m bid for Dutch attacker

Cody Gakpo news

Gakpo to Arsenal?

Arsenal have been fancied to make a €40m bid for PSV's Cody Gakpo this summer, according to ED.

The Gunners were linked with the young forward during the January transfer window, but nothing materialised beyond the speculation.

However, it is now claimed that the north London club have an interest, and could make a formal approach at the end of the campaign.

The 22-year-old is capable of playing anywhere across the attack, but has predominantly operated on the left wing this season.

He has been hugely impressive with 16 goals and 15 assists from 37 outings, and has also made an impact with the Netherlands.

Hence, there has been plenty of transfer interest, but the Gunners appear front-runners to sign him, according to latest reports.

Arsenal have changed their transfer policy in recent times. They have focused on pursuing young players with glowing potential.

Gakpo fits their requirement perfectly, but the Dutchman may have to fight for his spot in the line-up with the fierce competition.

The Gunners have Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli operating on the left wing with Bukayo Saka and Nicolas Pepe on the other flank.

Out of the quartet, Gakpo could come in as a replacement for Pepe, who has struggled to secure regular game time over the past year.
