Manchester United are prepared to commit Marcus Rashford to a new long-term contract amid speculation over his future.

The England star has been a key player for United over the past six years, but his game time has significantly reduced in recent months.

He has hardly started games under interim boss Ralf Rangnick, and there have been suggestions that he could leave the club this summer.

Amidst this, ESPN claims that United are not looking at selling him, and would rather focus on handing him a new long-term contract.

Meanwhile, the hierarchy are aiming to reduce Rashford's off-field work to focus on playing, but the striker prefers to continue on both fronts.

Rashford has been out of the England squad lately amid his poor run of form. He appears unlikely to be recalled for the summer games.

The 24-year-old still has time to turn his fortunes around, but faces a difficult challenge of winning over Rangnick for the rest of the campaign.

He currently has a contract until June 2023, but United have the option to prolong his stay for another campaign via an extension clause.
