Chelsea offered chance to sign Kalidou Koulibaly?

Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign Napoli defender and long-term target Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Blues are expected to be short in the central defensive department with Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen set to leave on free transfers.

Meanwhile, Cesar Azpilicueta could follow the same direction. The club are likely to pursue at least two centre-backs in the next transfer window.

It is now reported by Area Napoli that Koulibaly could emerge as an option for the Blues as they aim to add experience to their backline next season.

Koulibaly has been linked with the Blues since the summer of 2016, but a deal has failed to materialise with Napoli's reluctance to sell him.

However, their stance is expected to change this summer. The Serie A outfit are hoping to secure a decent transfer fee for their prized asset.

Despite being 30, Koulibaly is still at the prime of his playing career, and he could be a quality acquisition for the next five seasons at least.

The centre-back is likely to cost around £30m this summer.
