Arsenal desperate to keep striker at the club
Arsenal are desperate to keep Eddie Nketiah at the club beyond the summer, The Mirror reports.
The 22-year-old has been largely a substitute this term, but his fortunes have changed over the past four Premier League games.
Nketiah was handed a rare starting opportunity against Chelsea last month, and he made the most of the chance by scoring a brace.
He has since added another two goals to his tally against Leeds, and is now regarded as the undisputed starter in the striker role.
According to The Mirror, the hierarchy are now desperate to keep Nketiah whose contract expires at the end of the current season.
The young marksman has already snubbed a couple of contract offers, but could change his stance amid the recent breakthrough.
Nketiah may still want regular minutes next term, and it remains to be seen whether manager Mikel Arteta is prepared to assure him.
The Gunners are planning to sign at least one new striker this summer. Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus has emerged as the top target.
