Arteta provides update on Arsenal trio

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that the club have already decided on the contract status of three first-team players.

The Gunners ended the season on a high with a 5-1 win over Everton, but they only finished fifth in the Premier League standings.

Following the game, Arteta provided an update on the futures of Alexandre Lacazette, Eddie Nketiah and Mohamed Elneny.

The trio have their contracts expiring at the end of the June, and Arteta hinted that they could be on their way out this summer.

"It’s been decided, but it’s very difficult to communicate it. What they deserve is to have what they had today." he told reporters.

Lacazette has been a huge disappointment with just four league goals this term, and there are no surprises that he will be leaving.

However, some fans may feel aggrieved by the exits of Nketiah and Elneny, who were instrumental during the final weeks of the season.

Nketiah netted five goals in the last eight games. Elneny, on the other hand, played a key role in midfield after Thomas Partey's injury.
