Arsenal tracking Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu

With ongoing uncertainty over the long-term future of Granit Xhaka, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is readying a move for 21-year-old Turkey international and Feyenoord first-team star Orkun Kokcu. The player has been with the Eredivisie side since 2014, forcing his way into the club's first-team in 2018.
Seen as one of the brightest talents currently playing in the Netherlands, Kokcu is well on his way to appearing over 100 times for Feyenoord. Capable playing as a deep-lying playmaker, it is this positional awareness and distribution skill that Arteta so much covets and subsequently sees Kokcu as a replacement for Granit Xhaka. Xhaka has been constantly linked with a move to Italian side AS Roma, and the Serie A side are expected to make another bid for the Swiss this summer.
It is understood that Arsenal scouts have been monitoring the player for over 18 months.
Kokcu's contract with Feyenoord ends in 2024-25, and Arsenal will need to beat rivals Chelsea, Tottenham and West Ham should they complete a move for Feyenoord's prized asset. Arsenal are ready to pay around 25 million euros for the versatile young midfielder.
