Nedim Bajrami on Arsenal transfer wish list
Empoli's attacking midfielder Nedim Bajrami could be set for a shock move to England, with Arsenal rumoured to be in the race to sign the 23-year-old. Reports from Italy suggest that the Albanian international has caught the eye of manager Mikel Arteta, who is ready to pay 10 million euros to secure the Swiss-born midfielder.
Bajrami arrived in Italy at Empoli from his boyhood club Grasshoppers in 2019 and has since gone on to appear in more than 80 games for his current club. Last season in Serie A, Bajrami scored 6 goals in 21 games, catching the eye with some impressive displays for the Italian minnows.
Arsenal have been recommended making a move for Bajrami by their scouts, whilst it is understood that fellow Swiss/Albanian star Granit Xhaka recommended the club to make a move for the versatile youngster. Bajrami is comfortable playing as a box-to-box midfielder or further up the pitch as an attacking midfielder.
Bajrami has played for Switzerland's youth sides from 2013-2021, before switching his allegiance to represent Albania's full international team.
