Monaco centre-back Benoît Badiashile is a target for several Premier League teams as the transfer window reopens, with the French under-21 international catching the eye with a number of impressive displays in Ligue 1 for his current club. The 21-year-old appeared in 24 Ligue 1 games last season, scoring one goal.
Chelsea are looking to bolster their defence after a number of high profile departures, including Antonio Rudiger, who joined Real Madrid yesterday. A move for Badiashile comes at a time where the club have changed ownership and are now able to make transfers once again. The defender, who primarily plays as a centre-back, is looking for a move to England with regular first-team football, something that may not be guaranteed at Arsenal should William Saliba return to the club from his Marseille loan period. The same applies to Manchester United, who have an abundance of first-team defenders to choose from.
Badiashile is likely to be available for a fee of around 20 million euros, and currently has two years remaining on his deal with the Ligue 1 club.
