Chelsea accelerating interest in World Cup winner
Chelsea are reportedly accelerating their pursuit of Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele, who will be out-of-contract next month.
The Frenchman was on the Blues radar during the January transfer window, but a deal did not materialise before the deadline.
Dembele preferred to continue with Barcelona, but he is now free to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of June.
According to TalkSPORT, the Blues have now intensified their interest in Dembele, and talks are underway with his entourage.
The forward has had injury concerns over the past few years, but continues to attract interest from some of Europe's elite teams.
Chelsea are among his long-term admirers. If he were to join them, he would be reunited with his former Borussia Dortmund manager.
Thomas Tuchel played a key role in his progress at Dortmund, and a reunion could be an enticing factor for the World Cup winner.
Dembele will command a significant signing-on fee for the Bosman switch. He is expected to make a transfer decision soon.
