Chelsea prepared to meet asking price for Inter defender

Chelsea are prepared to meet the asking price for Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij, FC Inter News report.

The Blues are expected to bolster the central defensive department this summer with the departure of multiple stars.

Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen will walk out on free transfers when their contracts expire on June 30.

Meanwhile, there are also doubts surrounding the future of Cesar Azpilicueta, who is eyeing a move to Barcelona.

Amidst this, the Blues are planning to sign two centre-backs. Sevilla's Jules Kounde could be one of those joining the club.

The other could be De Vrij, who is expected to be sold by Inter this summer after refusing to accept a pay-cut for a renewal.

The Dutchman's contract expires in the summer of 2023, and the Nerazzurri are prepared to sell him for just £13 million.

Chelsea are reportedly willing to meet the price as well as the player's salary demands to sign him at the earliest possibility.
