Thomas Tuchel wants Chelsea to finalise deal for Frenchman
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has urged the club's hierarchy to finalise the transfer of Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.
The Frenchman was the Blues' prime central defensive target last summer, but a deal did not materialise before the deadline.
Sevilla wanted his €80 million buy-out clause to be paid in full, but they are prepared for a compromise this time around.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the La Liga outfit are willing to accept a reduced fee of €65m to sanction Kounde's exit.
He added that Tuchel is eager to sign the former Bordeaux graduate, and has already told Chelsea to push through a summer transfer.
The Blues seem to be in pole position to sign Kounde with long-term admirers Barcelona having financial issues at the moment.
The La Liga giants can't afford to meet the price tag until they recoup funds from player sales. A new centre-back does not appear a priority.
They are more focused on recruiting a creative attacking midfielder.
