Arsenal agree £45m fee to sign 25-year-old star
Arsenal have reportedly reached an agreement with Manchester City for the services of Gabriel Jesus.
The Brazil international has been the Gunners' prime target for the summer, and they are now on the cusp of landing him.
According to The Athletic, a fee of £45 million plus add-ons has been negotiated between the clubs for the proposed transfer.
The north London giants will now proceed to discuss personal terms with Jesus, which should be a mere formality.
Tottenham Hotspur were also interested in the 25-year-old, but Jesus is said to have snubbed them for their arch-rivals.
While Spurs have qualified for the Champions League, Jesus did not have the assurance of a regular starting position.
At Arsenal, he is guaranteed to lead the line next season with Eddie Nketiah expected to provide back-up off the bench.
With Jesus' arrival, the Gunners summer spending spree will exceed £85m, having also signed Marquinhos, Matt Turner and Fabio Vieira.
New England Revolution have already confirmed Turner's move to Arsenal, but the Gunners are yet to make a formal announcement.
