Chelsea have failed to hijack Paris Saint-Germain's move to sign RB Leipzig right-back Nordi Mukiele, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues have made just two signings in Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly during the ongoing transfer window.

The club are eyeing more arrivals over the coming weeks, but their recent transfer strategy has been far from convincing.

They agreed to sign Raphinha from Leeds earlier this month, only for the player to choose a move to Barcelona instead.

The Blues are set to suffer a similar fate with long-term target Jules Kounde, who is said to prefer a move to the Catalan giants.

It is now reported that the club tried to hijack Les Parisiens' move for Nordi Mukiele, but their approach did not materialise.

Chelsea's new owner Todd Boehly has taken charge of negotiations this summer, but everything has been quite random.

The Blues don't seem to have any fixed transfer targets. They have been trying to persuade players, who are not convinced to join them.
