Chelsea to sign Carney Chukwuemeka

Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign Aston Villa midfield prodigy Carney Chukwuemeka, subject to personal terms and a medical.

The Blues have been active in the transfer window and it appears they could make several signings before the deadline on September 1.

They have already signed Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly, and now have deals in place for Chukwuemeka and Gabriel Slolina.

Chukwuemeka recently entered the final year of his contract with Villa, and it was widely expected that he would be sold as soon as possible.

The likes of Arsenal and Manchester United were linked, but it is Chelsea that have won the race to secure his services on a long-term deal.

Chukwuemeka has joined the Blues in a deal worth £15m, and the sum can be regarded as a bargain, considering his huge potential.

He played a key part in the Young Lions winning the Euros this summer, and he could be a key player for the Blues in years to come.
